It started when she was 6 years old...and the story continues.

At an early age, Brook Blander found the hidden joy of journaling between the red and blue lines of first grade paper. There she began to write the secrets of her childhood that she shared with no one other than the pages of what became her first journal. Twenty-four years later, she gathered the fifty plus journals filled over the years and packed them away for her daughter and generations to come. It was then she realized that this motivation to capture her story for her children and future grandchildren needed to be shared with many others. It was also then she begin crafting her first series of journals and the ebonyLotus journal line was born.

Each journal is handcrafted by Brook Blander with Love, Peace and positive Energy.

Brook Blander has self-published four books to date (2009) and knows the ins and outs of self-publishing. In 1999, she and two partners, Lenore Simon and Cassandra Wilder birthed a desire to start a publishing company to offer services to literary writers and poets. Months after the formation of this idea, the trio suffered a loss when Cassandra passed in a swimming accident during a brave and selfless act to save the lives of her two young nephews, and so the dream was placed aside to mourn the loss of their sister-friend. At the launch of Brook's journal line, she decided to breathe life back into the idea and add publishing as a department of expression to the ebonyLotus name with Lenore Simon as the Lead Editor.
